RHS WISLEY

Overlooking the canal and entrance the Laboratory, clothed in many wonderful climbers, dominates the area. Although it has the appearance of an old home, it was purpose built as a laboratory in 1914-16 using materials recycled from old manor houses around the district.

On the 5th of June, 2004, the club organised a trip Wisley, the Royal Horticultural Society showcase garden. The weather was perfect and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Designed by Penelope Hobhouse, this country style garden has a formal layout of paths. At the centre is a circular pool and the whole garden is flanked by avenues of Malus and divided by arches of Wisteria.
